From the Author

In 2011, six sisters gathered in Atlanta for a week. We dedicated most days to reading our mother’s 40-plus year journal and reminiscing our lives with her and with each other. By the time I headed home, the vision to write our story had taken root in my heart. I wanted to leave for all of our descendants a documented record of growing up in historic times with exceptional parents.
I dedicated the next two years to researching historical archives, conducting interviews, and sketching an outline. The following two years were filled with devising drafts, testing titles, finding photos, and editing ad infinitum. I crammed tale after chronological tale into Sticks, Stones & Songs—The Corey Story, until the pages could hold no more. Meanwhile, the remaining portions were left to brew in my brain until 2017 when restlessness in my soul sent me back to the files. The resulting book, Pots, Pans & Peace—The Legacy of Margaret Corey, went to press in 2020.
My desire is that those who come after us, including my grandchildren shown here, will read these records and be challenged to follow the path of their ancestors who sought to know and follow God.

Thank you for sharing your family with us, Eleanor and all…

May it be a great encouragement to all who read and identify with similar situations.

I am looking forward to reading it in it's entirety!!

I would love to buy a signed copy of your new book and learned so much about you from reading your first one. Our history goes back over 50 years but it seems like yesterday riding in your bug! I’m doing well and staying home and my son is making sure I have what I need. Lots of easing, projects, and time spent with my little rescue dog Chloe. Happy blessed Easter, love, Betty Palm Hartman
